  This place is amazing. Husband and I were traveling through, decided to try Petes because of location and good reviews. It exceeded our expectations. First, the presumed owner (forgot to ask his name--I'll call him Pete) welcomed us and explained the menu. We wanted to sit outside because we had our dog with us, so "Pete" insisted on coming outside, cleaning one of the outdoor tables, and spreading a red checked tablecloth for us. He asked if we wanted something to drink, apologized for no wine, and brought us some bottled water. We got the distinct impression that he would've gladly accepted our bringing our own bottle had we thought of it. We next had an order of small rolls, freshly baked, encrusted with fresh herbs and salt which were delicious. Next came 2 small salads with oil and vinegar to put on ourselves, nothing special. He also brought some warm crusty bread and butter, and immediately endeared us by serving our dog a piece! Finally the entrees--husband had puttanesca while I had broccoli in Alfredo sauce. Both dishes were fantastic--puttanesca was the best I've had, with an intensely flavorful tomato sauce punctuated with garlic and anchovy, to which had been added olives, mushrooms and capers. My linguini Alfredo was also flavorful and creamy. Both servings were HUGE--we had enough left over for TWO lunches!
  For all that delicious food and great service, he only charged us $29!!!! We insisted on leaving a $10 tip because he deserved it.
  What a nice experience--if we lived here, we'd be here often.

  There have been a lot of vendors in this building the past 10 years, the newest being Pete's Pizza. The food and pizza are usually excellent though rather pricey.
  Brielle in general commands a higher price rent, hence the pricey food.
  There's a large sign at the corner of the store, stating two plain slices and a can of soda for $5.
  Unbeknownst to me, I ordered two plain slices to go and the owner did not mention that a can of soda was included.
  How stupid I felt when I read the sign upon leaving. I did not return to the establishment to grab my drink. I felt cheated and I felt the owner was aware that I wasn't. Felt he was callous, since the place was not busy at all.

  Seeing almost all 5 star reviews I decided to give them a shot even though it's a little further than I am used to driving for pizzeria fare.
  
  The owner was a friendly guy. And he had an old school Italian accent, which was reassuring.
  
  I ordered a Stromboli to go. Also, got a slice of plain pie for testing purposes for future reference.
  
  The Stromboli was fresh, made to order, which I appreciated. However, it was just an average Stromboli. It comes with sausage, peppers, onions, and mozzarella. There was a paucity of the thin sausage slices. And the peppers and onions did not throughly cook through in the baking process. I don't like my vegetables cremated, but these were a little too much on
  the raw side.
  
  The pizza slice I heated at home. It was  average pizza for the area. Joe Spano's Tomato Pies in Point Pleasant is still my fav around here.
  
  I was pretty sure that I'd give them a better review, based on the others. But "average" is an honest assessment.
  
  Would I come here again? Sure, it's OK if I'm in the area and want a slice. However, I wouldn't take a drive to Brielle when I could find at least as good in a couple of places in Point.

  Very rude phone girl who takes orders. They told us it would take 30 mins at 650pm today an its 833pm as i write this and my food is still jot here, and i have 14 hungry teens!!!!! Very very disappointed. Snd when i asked for a total they refused to give it after the took my credit card purchase.

  Pete's does a great job for a small town Pizza /Italian shop... they are our first choice when we call out because of quality food, service, and portion size.
